Dont make the mistake

I have had nothing but issue after issue after issue with this refrigerator. I happen to be on my 4th round of repairs with a refrigerator that wont cool right wont freeze right and now LG wants to completely rebuilt it. I have lost all my frozen foods and all my refrigerator items as well. If I could give this a zero star review.. I would. I would expect more out of a company selling a high end expensive fridge like this.

Customer service major fail

I ordered this refrigerator directly from LG. 40 days later I still dont have it. Worse. They charged my card 40 days ago rather than after it shipped which is a joke. Their communication is awful. Ive been in the dark and only find things out after calling and hours on hold. Customer service is non existence. All they do is apologize which doesnt keep food cold. They finally admitted it was on back order which you think they wouldve told me from the get go. This has been the worst consumer experience of my life and Im old. So how is the refrigerator? How the heck would I know?

Craft ice maker broken within the first year

I bought this refrigerator from costco about an year ago. It seemed to work okay for the first few months nothing extraordinary but did what we expected from it. Right around the one year mark the craft ice maker stopped producing ice suddenly. Tried all the troubleshooting suggestions but nothing helped. Reached out to LG repairs and they are sending a replacement ice maker for self repair. It was disappointing to see that the ice maker broken within an year of buying.

The doors arent even. Best Buy couldnt fix the doors. Also the craft ice maker doesnt always work. I have to reset the craft ice make every day and it sometimes works. But for the most time it doesnt work.

This refrigerator is huge Changing over from 2 side-by-sides I needed to find a large capacity refrigerator/freezer in addition to changing habits and this one fit the bill. The first one was DOA on arrival compressor. I bought through Costco.com and they immediately scheduled a replacement. I noticed that the door-in-door case that thing the shelves fit into cannot be removed. It is totally stuck on one side. You simply cannot pull up and lift off as LG says in the manual. The tape cannot be removed because you cant get the whole piece out. I called Costco back and it took LG several days and a warning from Costco to respond asking for an additional 3 - 5 days to find a service provider. That actually happened in less than 24 hours but my appointment was scheduled 9 days out. What would I have done with no refrigerator for 2 weeks had it been the compressor? I am happy that the refrigerator is functioning properly but annoyed that I cannot remove the case in order to remove the last of the tape. The technician came and he had to whack it from underneath to get it out of the locking clips and said they are very tight when new and I will probably have to do that for the next few times. His hands were larger than mine so easy for him to do. For me not easy at all. I guess hubby will get the honors in the future. The crooked bottom piece seems to be designed that way. LG update your manual Fingerprint resistant is a joke - more like fingerprint magnet. Constantly wiping the handles off with a microfiber cloth. I love the convertible drawer. It can be used for a multitude of things. I was using it for lunch meats etc. but turned it to freezer mode to handle overflow. I am not used to a bottom box freezer. The sliding drawer on top of the freezer basket is a nice addition. I know it is designed for ice cubes primarily but there is a lot of real estate in there. I do wish they supplied two dividers for the large basket. I bought a storage container to create 2 areas on the left side. I am used to 3 drawers and 3 shelves. The shelves are really deep but I am tall enough to be able to reach to the back. The condiment shelves/drawers on the left side are a tad too narrow in my opinion but I did manage to put a lot of small bottles in there. I like the flip shelf on the right so you have more room for tall items but that means short things go behind them and you have to paw through to tall things to get to them. And you lose half a shelf. I wound up putting our large ketchup and mustard containers along with the mayo in the door-in-door since they are used for a lot of sandwiches. I had read one review that said the temperature in the door-in-door is not as cold as it should be so milk goes bad. I have placed thermometers all over the refrigerator and freezer and not found this to be true. The temperatures have all been spot-on including the door-in-door. The temperatures seem to rise quickly if the doors are opened for too long thus the 2-minute warning? or too often in a short time and it does not cool down back to the 37 degrees quickly. The lights on tap for the door-in-door is nice if I am doing inventory on water bottles we keep there but in general not really worth paying extra for. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I had also read a lot of bad reviews about the ice/water part of this unit. Our city water is loaded with calcium so we chose not to hook those up. I would have loved to have found something without these dispensers but the choices arent great. So service calls for these will be nil For what its worth the technician said the newer compressors are much better he is not getting a lot of calls. That doesnt explain a DOA compressor on the first one though My confidence isnt high that it will actually last 10 years even though the part is covered. Would I buy this again? Probably not if I could find a decent American made product that fit the bill. Even many of those are getting bad reviews these days. I miss the old days when an appliance lasted for 20 years my refrigerator starting to make odd noises is 16 years old - maybe a service call on it would have been the answer but not the cubic foot problem. Wish they had a maybe box in the would your recommend this product to a friend but they dont thus the Yes.

Ice maker stopped working

The bottom ice maker took a month to start working now 6 months later the top ice maker has stopped from getting cold to make ice. Very activating. Otherwise it works well.

Large capacity refrigerator

We purchased this refrigerant 2022. We love this refrigerator but the ice has been hit or miss after just 6 months. Our craft ice stopped working and the regular ice that comes out of the door will just stop working occasionally. Of course it stops right before our family of 14 come to visit. The refrigerator is large and deep. I can stack 9x13 casserole pans inside. The drawer is also excellent When the kids are here it is filled withsnacks and drinks. Otherwise we keep drinks and luncheon meets and cheeses in the drawer. We knock on the front door to see what drinks and condiments are available without opening up the entire refrigerator. This is an excellent refrigerator that can hold a lot of food when you have a big group staying with you.

I bought this 6 months ago and already had to replace the compressor. Ive tried to get the freezer door slide replace but no one is interested to take care of the problem. It makes a clicking noise when opening and the technician that put in the compressor says it needed replacing. It has been doing this from the beginning. Very disappointing

My fridge gave me problems from day one. It stopped cooling and not making any ice. Theyve changed the compressor and all kinds of parts ice maker fans condenser thermostat and pretty much everything and this appliance is still not functioning. They will not give my money back in full because they said that its more than 1 year old and they will give me a depreciation value instead.

I love my refrigerator I bought it in 2020 and this year the compressor went put but LG sent someone out in just a couple of days and the repair was covered by the warranty. The only issue is we had the craft ice go out on us twice had it replaced twice then just after warranty it went out again so our craft ice does not work but I love every thing else

Problems after the 1st year

This unit is replacing a 13 year old refrigerator of the same size. We like the see through door and its very convenient for grabbing drinks. The icemaker on the older unit seemed to produce more ice per day. It might be that they are the same and since its summertime we may be using more ice. We definitely like the craft ice. The single piece drip tray is a big plus from the older design. Also the 3 button selector for ice type or water is a big improvement. Many times guest would push the water button on the older unit thinking they are getting ice. One thing we have noticed is the shelves on the doors are not as deep as the original unit. This is a little bit of a disappointment. Otherwise we are enjoying this very much.

I bought in Feb delivered in March and installed in May. During July the outside of the freezer was covered in condensation. I went to the store I bought at in Maine and was told they were not authorized to work on LG appliances? I purposely bought locally to have local service. I was not happy. I was given a # to call leave a message. Received a return call from someone with a very heavy accent. I was told there were NO SERVICE TECH IN MY AREA I would receive a call for an appt. within 5 days. That appt has never materialized. No one has called.

Weve had this appliance for over a year now and we love a lot of the features that it has to offer hence the purchase. The negative things weve experienced are the upper ice maker quit freezing and all the ice melted it was a challenge trying to communicate and finally get a technician out to replace a part that apparently is known to malfunction on many of LG refrigerators. Then more recently our craft ice maker quit making and dispensing ice this time around it was much easier to get a technician out to change out the faulty part. I think for future purchases Ill research the reviews a little bit more carefully. We believe in LGs line of products and would purchase them again.

I was excited to have a large refrigerator with 2 ice makers. The size is great but the ice makers are crap Never has the ice holders been full. I have to reset them all the time for them to make ice and have had both ice makers replaced multiple times in the 2 1/2 years we have had refrigerator. It makes no sense for me to have 2 ice makers and still have to buy ice. Very disappointed in the very small amount of ice this refrigerator puts out. Also LG premium care service plan has covered the MANY service calls but getting appointments scheduled are a royal pain. Currently waiting for a repair appointment submitted claim over 2 weeks ago have contacted claim service for an update via online chat service and still do not have an appointment. Very frustrated the size doesnt make up for all the issues.

you did not replace the defective refrigerator. You added a small plastic part to extend the rail. The side wall of the refrigerator is still warped also impacting the upper shelf whisk is now bent upwards.We spent over $3000 for this refrigerator and did not expect to have one with a warped interior wall and a jerry rigged repair

Bought this particular appliance on memorial day weekend 2024. At first I was overwhelmed with the ice making but after a week I had cubes galore... This is a beautiful refrigerator and keeps food and beverage cold. I was surprised that the insta-view door was keeping the food just as cold as the inner part of the fridge.
